The Washington Nationals, the team’s owner, announced the team will move to the National Football League’s new stadium in time for the 2019 season.
The team’s new home in downtown L.A. will have an estimated capacity of 23,000 for football games, a third-largest stadium in the NFL.
The new stadium is the first of its kind for the NFL and is expected to generate $200 million in revenue.
The league expects the new stadium to draw an average of 22,000 fans per game.
The stadium will feature luxury boxes, a retractable roof, an in-seat lounge, food and beverage facilities and an outdoor bar.
Nationals Stadium will be built on the site of the former NFL football stadium at Nationals Park in Silver Spring, Md.
The Nationals, a perennial NFL favorite, play in the new home of the Los Angeles Rams, which has been sold for more than $2 billion.
The deal is expected have a positive effect on the league, which will now have two NFL franchises with an average home field of 19,000, the league said in a statement.
The Redskins have been trying to move to a new stadium for about four years.
After years of talks with the NFL, the Redskins announced in May that they would begin construction of the new facility.
The project will take six months and be the biggest public project in team history.
The $300 million project will include new parking garages, an upgraded concourse and an improved food service area.
The renovation will also include new seats, restrooms, concession stands and concessions for ticket holders.
The arena will seat over 35,000 people.
The teams home game will be at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., and the Nationals will play a pair of home games at Chase Field in Chicago and RFK Stadium in Washington.
In addition to the new team, the new arena will feature a new baseball diamond and an indoor pool.
The plan is to have another home game at FedEx Stadium in 2022.
The city of Washington approved a $500 million, 20-year stadium plan for the area surrounding Nationals Park.
The National Basketball Association announced in January that it will begin playing basketball in a new arena in downtown Los Angeles.
The Lakers have been the NBA’s primary tenant at the newly-completed stadium since it opened in 2019.
The NBA announced the Lakers would play at the new Dodger Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., in 2020.
The Dodgers will play their home games in Los Angeles for the first time since the team moved to Los Angeles from Phoenix in 2019, and will also begin playing at the renovated Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
In 2019, the NBA announced that it had agreed to extend the lease of Dodger Field until 2033.
