A small gas leak at a residential gas line at a suburban Atlanta home could cost homeowners thousands of dollars.
A contractor at a gas line on a rural road near Atlanta discovered the leak Tuesday morning.
The homeowner, who asked not to be identified, says the line was leaking about 1 a.m.
She says she had been using the service to service her home’s home heating system when she noticed her gas meter started to run out.
She called the gas company and the problem was traced to a gas supply line.
A rep for Southern Gas says the company is working to address the issue and has already contacted the homeowner to fix the issue.
The company says it has begun a customer service hotline and will work with the homeowner in any way possible.
