The American Gas Association, the nation’s largest utility industry trade group, has updated its 2016 Annual Report, estimating that nearly 3.3 million natural gas meter readings were collected in 2016, up from 2.6 million in 2015. 

The report also shows that the average residential customer paid $15.35 per month for natural gas in 2016.

The average residential home in the U.S. was averaging $3,700 per month in natural gas costs, up 1.7% from last year.

The cost of electricity for homes was $1,834 per month, up 5.2% from 2015.
